November 2013 - CFPB & EITC Webinar
Thursday, November 21, 2013 ** The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the EITC
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) was created by the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010 with a mission “to make markets for consumer financial products and services work for Americans — whether they are applying for a mortgage, choosing among credit cards, or using any number of other consumer financial products.” Part of CFPB’s mandate is to increase awareness of the EITC and other tax credits for working families. David Sieminski, Policy Analyst with CFPB, offered an informative presentation addressing the following questions:
- What does CFPB do? How does CFPB’s work impact those eligible for the EITC?
- What is its work related to increasing access to the EITC?
- How can EITC funders work with CFPB moving forward?
