The EITC Funders Network Bi-Annual meeting provided an opportunity for funders to come together to in person to learn, discuss and strategize about key issues facing the field. As in past years, this year’s meeting was held in conjunction with the National Community Tax Coalition’s conference. The focus of this year’s meeting included two key issues: the demographic shifts in poverty and the sustainability of current and future models of free tax preparation. Funders from across the country, including several from the southeast region who are new to our network, joined us in New Orleans for robust discussion related to two presentations tackling these important topics:
- The Changing Face of Poverty in America: What are the implications for EITC recipients and strategies for funders? Speakers included Elizabeth Kneebone, Brookings Institution; Alfredo Cruz, Foundation for Louisiana; and Diane DiGiacomo, Piton Foundation
